SPQ Snaps
Under the editorship of Gary Alan Fine (2007-2010), Social Psychology Quarterly introduced shortened, lightened, and focused versions of some of the papers that SPQ publishes. This innovation, called SPQ Snaps, ensures that our papers may reach a larger audience. Thus, in addition to social psychologically oriented scholars, with Snaps, SPQ becomes, in Gary’s words, “a journal for readers: generalists, trainees, and undergraduates.”
Each SPQ Snap is about half the length of the published article yet emphasizes the major theoretical and substantive points and includes the most central tables and figures. We appreciate the extra effort of our authors to make their pieces available to students in ways that are clear and usable.
Turn to these articles, read them yourself, and then assign them to your undergraduates and graduate students in social psychology or related classes. In doing so, our serious and best scholarship will be read widely and our journals transcend their scholarly purpose to also become valuable teaching tools.
