Due to the complexities of scheduling a program with nearly 600 sessions and more than 4,000 participants, it is not possible to avoid all conflicts of individual obligations. Participants with multiple commitments may contact their session organizers or ASA Meeting Services staff anytime before March 12, 2012 and request scheduling consideration. Meeting Services staff will try to accommodate reasonable requests, but no guarantees can be given.

Information on the session schedule in general will not be available until April 30, 2012.

Section Scheduling

Section activities are pre-assigned to specific days following a four-year rotation schedule. Section session times on those days will not be finalized until the overall program schedule is completed.

All Section program sessions and Council/Business meetings will be scheduled on the assigned days. Those Sections whose programs are larger than the time slots available on their days will have sessions scheduled on adjacent days. Section Council/Business meetings and Section Roundtable sessions must be held on the assigned days.

The section schedule is now available.

Section Receptions

Receptions sponsored by ASA Sections may be held on the first and third evenings of the meeting. For 2012, sections whose assigned program day is August 17 or 18 will have access to reception space at 6:30 p.m. on the evening of August 17. Sections that meet on August 19 or 20 will have reception space made available at 6:30 p.m. on the evening of August 19.

Requests from Section Chairs for reception space at the ASA hotels are due in the ASA Executive Office by March 12, 2012.
