ASA Store FAQs

How do I place an order? 
To place an order in the ASA Store, you must be logged into your individual ASA account, including when ordering on behalf of a department or bookstore. If you do not already have an individual account, you can create one here. 

Can you order over the phone?
ASA does not accept orders by telephone, mail, or wire payment. All orders must be placed online in the ASA store. We do not accept purchase orders in lieu of prepayment through the ASA online store. If you need help with your username and password, email pub[email protected] or call (202) 383-9005 (ext. 1).

Am I eligible for a discount?
All active individual members signed into their ASA account will automatically receive discounted pricing in the Store. Student members, Department Affiliates, and bookstores are entitled to additional discounts on select products. 

  • Student Members: Individuals with an active ASA student membership receive $10 off the 2024 Guide to Graduate Departments by using the following discount code at checkout: ST10OFF. 
  • Department Affiliate Members: Individuals purchasing on behalf of a current ASA Department Affiliate receive additional discounts on eligible products. If you are your department’s primary contact, please sign into your individual account and use the following discount code at checkout: DASTORE. 
  • Bookstores: Individuals purchasing on behalf of a recognized bookstore in the ASA database receive a 20% discount on eligible publications, using discount code BOOKS. If your individual account is not linked to your bookstore in our system, please email [email protected] and the Publications team will follow up with you. You will not be able to redeem the discount without completing this step. 

When can I expect to receive my order?
If you are receiving the items with standard shipping, you should expect the shipment to arrive within 7-10 days of the order for shipping addresses in the United States. (Orders shipped outside the United States may take significantly longer to arrive.) Claims for missing shipment must be received at [email protected] within 4 weeks for U.S. addresses and within 8 weeks for non-U.S. addresses. 

Note that e-book orders will be immediately available for download by logging into your ASA Portal.

Does ASA have a return policy?
Yes. If the item was purchased within 90 days, is in unused condition, and is still currently sold by the ASA, contact the ASA Publications Department at [email protected] for a return authorization. Once the items are returned to ASA in good condition, we will issue a refund to the purchaser, less a 10% return/restocking fee.

Do you ship to international addresses?
Yes. International shipments may take longer than U.S. shipments. Expect the package to arrive within 3-6 weeks of the order. Note, however, that certain products are not available for shipment outside the U.S. 

What are the shipping charges?
STANDARD shipping to U.S. addresses is included at no additional cost. Allow 7-10 days for delivery.

STANDARD shipping outside the U.S. is an additional $13 per order.

PRIORITY shipping is available for U.S. orders only as follows:

  • UPS Ground is an additional $15 per order. 
  • UPS 2nd Day Air is an additional $25 per order. 
  • USPS Priority Mail is an additional $15 per order. 
  • USPS Priority Express is an additional $40 per order.
