Why Would Anyone Want to Be a Journal Editor? (from Inside Higher Ed)
Editors for ASA journals and the Rose Series in Sociology are appointed by ASA Council. Approximately 18 months prior to the end of the editorial term, an open call for editor applications is issued by the ASA Publications Committee (or, in the case of ASA section journals, the section’s publications committee). Any active calls for editor applications will appear on this page and will also be announced in ASA member newsletters and through other communications channels.
- The ASA Section on Political Economy of the World-System invites editor applications for the Journal of World-Systems Research for 2026-2028.
- The ASA Section on Sociology of Sexualities invites editor applications for the new journal, Sex & Sexualities, for 2025-2027.
