Volunteer

The volunteering period is now closed.

The Program Committee will accept volunteers to serve as Regular Session Organizers. The online portal will open for volunteers on March 4, 2024. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. Eastern on April 4, 2024.

Regular sessions are separate and independent from ASA Section sessions. The role of the regular session organizer is to review the papers submitted to their assigned topic, evaluate and select the best papers for presentation, designate a presider and discussant for the session, and notify submitters of your decision. The list of 2025 regular session topics is below.

Submissions will be accepted beginning November 2024 through February 2025. Organizers do not need to craft a call for submissions, since regular sessions by definition are open to all submissions.

The main work period for session organizers is January – April. This critical contribution to the planning of the annual meeting requires that you have the time to commit to these duties, as well as have the availability via email for important communications and reliable access to the internet to conduct your work online.

How to Volunteer
Volunteers are taken via the online portal. You may volunteer for up to three regular session topics.

  1. Log in to the online portal using your ASA username and password.
  2. Click on “Volunteer” listed under the Submitter Menu.
